Save Our youth service

There was a lot of interesting points raised today and I think we got a good insight into how councillors see the youth service and it's current position. With no youth service I believe young people don't have a bright future from my own experiences I've seen friends with talent who are musicians and have gone onto become recognised in a way through being able to practice at the youth club it will have a big effect on  young people with talent, young people with issues and many will feel they have no-one to talk to about these issues.

Over the weekend I have researched all the local councillors in Tameside and have put them onto a board, with the coulors of the party they support. I also hepled to make some banners to help 'Save Our Service'!!

S.O.S Pledges by the Young people who use the service

"I am proof of a young person who was taken on a very positive journey and have been working with tameside youth service for 11 years, i have now taken many young people on a similar journey through the service. Without the service, myself and many young people would not be where they are today"

"NO SERVICE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, NO FUTURE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE"

"Without this service I would not have had half the opportunities I have had. They provide so much for so many people, it would be irresponsible to remove it"

"YOUNG PEOPLE NEED A YOUTH SERVICE"

"The youth service gives young people from all different walks of life opportunities they wouldn't get otherwise"

"Young people NEED places to go to socialise and have fun, without it there boredom will increase and so will anti-social behaviour"

Every Child in Tatters

Last Friday it was announced that there will no longer be a youth service provided by the council and that as of March Tameside Youth Service as we love and know it will no longer exist!
